Addison Four Corner Store
4934 Vermont 22A
Addison VT 05491

Every small town around here has their little local country store.  The result is each one has it's unique speciality.  The Addison Four corner store has been one of our favorites.  If you're driving by from Burlington or New York it worth a stop!

 Homemade chocolates!

Home Smoked pepperoni and cheese!

 Awesome Deli sandwiches!
The breakfast sandwiches are worth the stop.   They are made with real maple syrup.

Home baked goods.  The tiny cider donuts are they best.

Enjoy!

August First
Bakery and Cafe

149 South Champlain St.
Burlington 05401

One summer day, I turned the corner and there it was!   I felt like I was definitely the last to know.  My first clue? -The long line.

August First bakery was such a nice surprise for me.  When I go to Burlington I'm not often walking around this part of town.  I popped in and had a delicious snack and a iced chai.  As an after-thought I purchased a loaf of jalapeno pepper and cheese bread and headed home.

Wow!  That bread was awesome!   I've since been back for more and I would definitely recommend this as a stop on your next B-Town trip!

The fun thing I learned is that every afternoon the bread bikes drives around the Burlington streets, shouting...."Breaaad foooor sale!"   I love it!  That's something I've only seen in others countries!  I wish I had that service in my Vermont neighborhood!

2146 Grove Street Brandon

Cattails Restaurant!
Ok just one more Creemee entry.  I just wanted to squeeze this in before the summer's over!

Cattails makes a very good creemee.  It should be on the top of the list if you decide to go on a Vermont Creemee Tour.  Creemees are just as "Vermont" as maple syrup or cheese, so they never should be over looked.

The perfect creaminess! Cherry, White Chocolate Twist.

...with rainbow sprinkles.

I'll have to write more about Cattails another day because there is more to say....but for now, I just what to say, it's one of our places to go out to eat!

Great drink specials!  The drinks actually taste like there is alcohol in them and to me, that's one sign of good restaurant.

To be continued....

A Lobster Roll in Vermont?

The Salty Cowboy
 209 North Main st. Rutland

Yes, we found a place that makes a very good one!  Vermont really missed out on ocean coast line.  We're the only New England state with out ocean beach.  For a lobster roll lover this is very sad.

There was hardly anyway to improve (except maybe, toasting the roll with butter)  It really felt like I was at a sea food joint in Maine.

My husband decided on the fish and chips.  "The Cowboy" fish and chips is made with tilapia.  Excellent!  Have you found a good place for a lobster roll in Vermont?

 Vergennes Laundry. A Fantastic cafe!

 247 Main St. Vergennes

About a year ago our friend Doug told about a new cafe in Vergennes that made the BEST croissant in the whole world....he was right!  I  remember when this use to be a an old laundry mat, now it's a beautiful cafe.  Every detail, right down to the hand typed food labels, are well thought out.

Also, Check out the wood fired breads.

For me, Vergennes Laundry, makes the best hot chocolate I've ever had.  The small size is made with two rich clumps of chocolate, sprinkled with some raw sugar and then combined with fleshly steamed milk! Unbelievable.(Sometimes, I have to get a canele to go with it.)

                                                                               Bon Appetit!
